The
DK2 USB dongle attaches to any free USB port (USB 1.0 or USB 2.0)
on the computer. Note that the Windows version on your computer
must support USB connections (some version of Windows 95 and Windows
98 may not support USB).
It offers a solution where the parallel printer port connection
is not suitable for a dongle (this may be due to incompatibility
with a parallel port printer or scanner or if the port is already
occupied with another dongle for some other software).
Note
that the latest DK2 drivers (version 5.10.0.87 or
later) must be installed in order for the DK2 USB to operate correctly.
These can be downloaded direct from DESkey
or can be supplied by ScotWeave on request.

Check that the DK2 is connected to a working USB port. Remove
the DK2 then reinsert it and follow any screen instructions.
Note
that if you change the USB port to which the DK2 is attached
a Windows "Found New Hardware" wizard may appear.
Click on the first option "Install the software automatically"
and the DK2 should be located by the wizard. If this does not
fix the problem then reinstall the DK2 drivers.
