You Can Obtain Fabric Costing Information
Automatically
In Dobby and Jacquard Designer ScotWeave can calculate an approximate
fabric cost as you create a design and display this as "over"
or "under" a target price automatically. Use the Cost/Composition
option in Yarn Designer to enter a cost for your yarns then use
the Calculations - Fabric Cost option in Dobby or Jacquard
to setup target costs.
You Can Match Yarn PCR to HSV Automatically
HSV values make a reasonable starting point for PCR values when
printing yarns. If you change your colour printer then you can automatically
apply HSV to PCR for all of your yarn files to get you started.
Use the Colour - Match PCR to HSV options to match single
yarns files or all files in a selected folder.
You Can Check the Warp Lift (Load) of a
Jacquard Before You Weave
In Jacquard designer and Jacquard Looms you can check the total
warp lift (the loading on the warp lifting hooks) before you create
the loom disk. If this loading is excessive then you may want to
weave the fabric face down to reduce the load on the lifters. Use
the Weave - Warp Lift option in Jacquard Designer or click
the Check Warp Lift menu button on the loom disk creation
dialog in Jacquard Looms.
You Can Work on Individual Pattern Layers
in Jacquard Designer
With a multi-layer jacquard design you can select individual warp
or weft layers and edit the pattern for that layer only. This makes
it easier, for example, to create a check pattern on one layer of
a double cloth design. Use the Edit - Warp Sequence or Edit
- Weft Sequence to select a layer to work on.
You Can Add a Working Border Around a Artwork
Image
In Artwork Designer, when editing a zoomed up image the scrollbar
will normally stop scrolling at the edges of an artwork which prevents
you from editing across the edges (joins) of the artwork. You can
add a "working border" around the image which "copies"
the image into this border and allows you to edit across the joins.
Use the View - Settings then Working Border option
to select a size for this border.
ScotWeave Supports the WIF file format
for dobby handlooms
ScotWeave Dobby Designer can import and export WIF files which enables
it to connect to a range of electronic handlooms and other CAD software.
For more information about WIF
click here. To use this option select the File
- Export and File - Import options in Dobby Designer.
