If the colour
of your library pages seems to change either when you reprint pages
at a later date or when you print pages from a different computer
then there may be a problem with the Windows printer driver settings.
For example

The photograph
above shows a portion of two ScotWeave library pages (Hue page number
55) printed from two different computers but using the same printer.
From the photo above it should be clear that the colours are column
91 and 78 on the back page look wrong (they are too yellow) and
different to those on the front page.
This particular
problem has been caused by the ICM setting in the Windows
printer driver. ICM stands for Image Color Management and
is a system which modifies the colours sent to a printer in an attempt
to provide the best colour reproduction for photographic images.
It is not ideally suited to printing ScotWeave fabrics or library
pages hence the problem with the printed page shown above.
If you have
printed your entire ScotWeave library with ICM set on then this
is okay so long as you ensure that the ICM option remains switched
on. Problems only arise when the library is printed with ICM on
then fabrics are printed with ICM off (or vice versa). Also problems
can arise if you use two or more ScotWeave systems and some have
ICM on and others have ICM off.
Ideally the
ICM option should be set OFF for best results with ScotWeave. However,
it is more important that you are consistent with all printer
driver settings and do not change settings between prints.
Also, if you use more than one ScotWeave computer you must ensure
that the printer driver settings are identical for every computer.
ICM and other
settings which may affect the printed colours are a feature of your
particular Windows printer driver. You will need to consult your
printer documentation for detailed information about how to change
these settings. Note that permanent printer driver changes must
be made from the Windows Control Panel.
