Software development
continues at ScotWeave with the following list being just a brief
selection of new features recently added to the software.
Yarn
Designer
In direct response to customer feedback, it is now possible to apply
a different yarn cost to each yarn in a yarn file as an alternative
to one cost for the entire yarn file. This allows more accurate
fabric cost calculations and is particularly relevant for fancy
yarns.
Colour library
management has been improved with options to print lists of
PCR values in a file and a new option to find yarns with empty PCR
values automatically.
Dobby
Designer
Variable weft density has been added to the Dobby Designer
program and allows weft density sequences to be entered in the weave
window.
The F6
function key can now be used to select a yarn directly from the
warp or weft pattern.
The File
- Recent Files option now opens a visual browse window of recent
designs.
A new weave
option allows the weave structure to be rotated by 90, 180
or 270 degrees.
Jacquard
Designer
The automatic jacquard weave creation tool PicJaq has been
implemented to all weave types. This option will automatically create
a "picture jacquard" from an artwork image such that the
jacquard fabric looks as much as possible like the original artwork
image.
A new option
under Weave - Edge Clean has been added to clean up edges
where weaves meet.
The Color
Picker window (used to create a new yarn shade) now has an option
to Search for an existing yarn which will closely match the newly
created color. This avoids duplication of yarn shades.
Both Jacquard
Designer and Base Weave Designer now have a compatibility
mode in which weave marks are shown as red/white squares
in common with other CAD software.
Jacquard
Looms
This program has undergone a major rewrite with the intention of
making it the most versatile and easy to use jacquard loom disk
creation and management tool available. Recent additions to this
program have increased the capacity to accommodate the largest
available looms and rewriting of the hook mapping feature
for ease of use. From loom disk conversion to major editing work
in all of the major loom disk formats, the Jacquard Looms program
is becoming an indispensable tool.
Dual
Monitor Support
ScotWeave now supports dual monitor operation under Microsoft
Windows XP. You will need a graphics card with two output connectors
(e.g. a DVI output and standard analogue outpu) such as the ATI
Radeon 9800 Pro. Setup is very simple and will allow you to view
large designs across the two monitors as required.
