System
Crash
A system crash is the ominous name given to the situation which
arises when a bug or other problem finishes a program unexpectedly.
With Windows
programs a system crash will immediately stop the program and return
to the Windows desktop. You may get a message about illegal operations
or, if you are using Windows NT, the "Dr. Watson" program
may start automatically in an attempt to give more information about
the problem.
Occasionally
a system crash will temporarily affect the operation of Windows
immediately after the crash. If the computer does not appear to
work correctly after a system crash then you should restart
the computer.
It is very rare
for a system crash to have any lasting affect on the computer
and after restarting everything should return to normal. If a program
has crashed once, however, it is likely that the same program will
crash again if the same circumstances arise.

Hang
A system hang is the name given to the situation which arises when
a bug or other problem causes the computer to lock up and stop working.
When the system is hung the mouse cursor will not move and
the keyboard will have no effect.
Since the mouse
does not operate after a system hang your options are very limited.
You should go through the steps for restarting the computer.
It is very rare
for a system hang to have any lasting affect on the computer
and after restarting everything should return to normal. If a program
has hung the system once, however, it is likely that the same program
will hang the system again if the same circumstances arise.
