Drape 3D
is a new feature builit-in to ScotWeave Dobby and Jacquard Designer
which allows you to see the current ScotWeave fabric draped onto
a real 3D model.

What's
new about this, you might ask ? The ScotWeave Auto Drape
feature has allowed you to do this for quite some time.
The
difference is that Drape 3D uses real 3D wireframe models
which means that you can rotate the model or move to a new viewpoint
and see the model from a different angle - all in real time.
All of this
is achieved on standard off-the-shelf Windows pc hardware and packaged
in ScotWeave's intuitive user interface to ensure that you can get
the results you want quickly and easily.

How
Much Will It Cost Me ?
The best news is that its entirely free as part of the standard
ScotWeave installation/upgrade package for ScotWeave Dobby and Jacquard
Designer. If you purchase either of these packages now then Drape
3D will be included in the software. If you have a ScotWeave
software maintenance contract then Drape 3D will
be included with your next update. It couldn't be simpler.
Technical
Details
The ScotWeave Drape 3D feature uses advanced industry-standard OpenGL
graphics to produce high quality, fast 3D rendering on standard
Windows pc hardware. 3D performance will be enhanced by the latest
pc hardware but it is not essential and development testing has
been performed on an old 266 MHz Pentium computer under Windows
98. You can optimise performance by downloading
the latest graphics drivers for your pc.
The wireframe
models conform to the industry standard "3DS", "Lightwave
Objects" or "Wavefront Objects" file formats
and new wireframe models can be readily obtained at low cost from
a number of different sources.
