Within ScotWeave,
HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) values are used to define screen
colours and PCR (Page, Column, Row) values are used to define
printer colours. There is a degree of correlation between these
two colour systems which means that HSV values can be applied directly
to PCR values as a quick method of obtaining an approximate
printer colour.
This property
is useful if you have changed to a new ScotWeave printer and have
a number of existing yarn files that have not been matched to this
new printer. Since the yarns are not matched to the printer they
will have 0,0,0 as their PCR values. This could lead to black
printouts or black yarns within a printout where a yarn
has not been matched.
To avoid this
problem ScotWeave has the facility to automatically and quickly
match all yarns in all yarns files such that the PCR values for
every yarn will be made the same as the HSV values.
This procedure
is carried out in the Yarn Designer program as follows -
1. Start Yarn
Designer as normal
2. Select Colour - Match PCR to HSV
3. To match a single file choose Select
Yarn File
4. To
match all files in a folder choose All
Files In Folder
5. Click on a yarn file
6. Answer Yes to the warning
messages
Note that this
will change any matched PCR values for the currently selected
printer. If you have manually entered PCR values for the
currently selected printer then these will be lost. This procedure
should be carried out immediately after changing the ScotWeave printer
and before any PCR values have been entered.
