It is possible
to save the entire screen as an image file and also to print the
screen image out directly to a printer within ScotWeave. This can
be useful for reference purposes, for producing teaching notes and
also for passing information back to ScotWeave. The procedures for
this are described below -
Saving the
Screen
In Windows you
can save the current screen image (the entire screen) to the Windows
clipboard by pressing the Print Screen
key on the keyboard. This key is usually located at the
top of the keyboard to the right of the Function keys. This function
is available in all software, not only ScotWeave.
Having saved
the screen image to the clipboard you can retrieve this image using
any graphics program that accesses the Windows clipboard. Once retrieved,
you can save the image to file or print it as required.
In Artwork
Designer use the Edit - Windows Clipboard
- Paste - As New menu selection to retrieve the image
from the clipboard. Once you have done this you will see the screen
image inside a new image window. You can edit and save this image
exactly as any other image.
Note that you
can only save one image to the clipboard using this technique.
If you press the Print Screen key again then Windows clipboard will
be overwritten with the current screen image.
Printing
The Screen
You can use
the above technique to save the current screen image, open it in
Artwork Designer (or some other graphics software) and then print
it. In some of the main ScotWeave programs, however, there is a
more direct method for printing the screen.
Use the menu
option File - Print Screen where
this is available. This will send the entire screen image (including
window borders, taskbars etc.) to the Windows printer.
