It is not possible
to e-mail a Staubli JC3 or JC4 loomdisk file as an attachment to
an e-mail message. This is because JC3 and JC4 use a nonstandard
diskette format which Windows cannot read and therefore Windows
cannot make the e-mail attachment.
If you wish
to e-mail the file between 2 ScotWeave users then you can, however,
make use of the ScotWeave WXF file format to achieve the same result.
The procedure is as follows -
At the
ScotWeave system which originates the design
1. Create the JC3 or JC4 disk as normal
2. Read the disk back onto the screen
3. Save the weave as a WXF file
4. Attach the WXF file to your e-mail message
At the
ScotWeave system receiving the design
5. Read the e-mail and download the WXF attachment
6. Open the WXF file in the Jacquard Looms program
7. Create the JC3 or JC4 disk using the weave on -screen
More Information
Step 3 above
is achieved using the File - WXF File -
Save as WXF menu option.
Step 6 above
is achieved using the File - WXF File -
Open WXF file menu option.
To create the
JC3 or JC4 loom disk at step 7 use File
- Save As then select Staubli JC3 or Staubli JC4 as the
loomdisk type.
Note
that you can also use steps 1 to 3 above as a method or saving a
copy of a JC3 or JC4 loomdisk file onto your hard disk for backup
purposes. The JC3/JC4 loomdisk can then be recreated directly at
any time by using steps 6 and 7 above.
