Change ScotWeave Printer
CADCAM Software for All Woven Textiles

This procedure should be carried out if you change the printer you are using for ScotWeave printouts and wish to enter a new set of PCR values for yarns matched to the new printer.

1. Install the Windows printer driver that you will be using
2. Start ScotWeave as normal
3. Select Setup & Print then Setup
4. Select Configure - ScotWeave Printers - Add a Printer
5. Select the printer driver installed at Step 1
6. Select Configure - ScotWeave Printers - Default Printer
7. Select the printer driver installed at Step 1
8. Select Files - Save to save your changes

Important Note:
When sharing a printer across a network and installing printer drivers ensure that the Windows printer driver name is identical on each workstation. Some printers come with different drivers which have slightly different driver names. For example -

HP Business Inkjet 2230/2280
HP Business Inkjet 2230/2280 PCL5

These two printer driver names are similar but not identical therefore they would be treated as two different printers by ScotWeave. The driver names must be identical in order for the system to operate correctly.

How This Works

ScotWeave yarn files are like databases of information on yarns. For each in the yarn file the screen HSV values and printer PCR values are stored. In addition to this, more then one set of PCR values can be stored for each yarn - one set for each printer the yarn has been matched to. The printer driver name is stored in the yarn file and the PCR values are referenced to this name.

When you change to a new printer and carry out the procedure above, ScotWeave will add the new printer name to each yarn file whenever it is next edited. The PCR values for the previous printer remain unchanged but any new PCR values will be referenced to the new printer.

You can automatically match all yarns in all yarn files to approximate PCR values. This will prevent any unmatched yarns from being printed and allow you to manually re-enter PCR values for the yarns at your leisure. Click here to see how to do this.
