Fabric
View Options
Once the weave and colour patterns have been entered the resulting
design will be viewed on the screen. As you change the weave or
patterns then the resulting design is updated and viewed in real
time. There is full control over individual yarn thickness and overall
fabric sett. In addition, a range of fabric finishing effects (milled,
raised, softening effects) can be applied.
For larger repeats the fabric viewed can be zoomed out to display
more of the fabric on the screen. A range of 3D viewing tools allows
for more realistic fabric simulations - such as bending and expansion
of individual threads in the fabric to duplicate the thread distortions
found in real fabrics.
3D
Fabric Simulations
Several advanced 3D modeling features are included to help visualise
your fabric design.
Weave 3D allows you to view the fabric structure as a real 3D
image and to move around the structure in real-time. You can edit
the structure in this mode and trace the path of individual threads
through the weave
Drape 3D
automatically drapes you fabric onto one of several supplied true
3D models with real time movement in and around the model available
Auto-drape quickly views your
design draped on one of several supplied "2.5D" models
and updates the model view as you change the fabric.
Output
Options
You can print the finished design on any standard Windows
printer. With higher resolutions available ScotWeave printout quality
exceeds that of the screen simulations. A separate Jacquard
Looms program is used to output jacquard weave data
to electronic jacquard looms or to print the weave lift information
for card cutting. Production data may also be printed to
a loomcard.
Designs created
by ScotWeave Dobby
Designer can be imported and converted to a jacquard
weave. Jacquard designs can also be exported to Dobby Designer and
woven as dobby designs.
Jacquard Designs
can be exported from ScotWeave as standard image files in
one of a range of standard file formats (e.g. TIFF, BMP, PCX etc.).
This allows ScotWeave jacquard designs to be viewed (but not edited)
on virtually any computer without the need for the ScotWeave software.
