Artwork
Artwork images are created and scaled for jacquard design using
ScotWeave Artwork
Designer. Images can be created freehand, scanned
in and edited, or imported from virtually any other image
creation software, including Photoshop. Independent X-Y scaling
automatically compensates for different warp and weft fabric settings
and allows the image to edited in correct proportions. Work in repeat,
work across the repeat joins. Clean to Grid tool allows the
colours within the image to be the exact size of a loop weave, resulting
in no back weave joins.
Build
Towel
The Build Towel feature allows you to set the towel dimensions
and create a template for the towel structure consisting of different
areas for border/header, and towel body. You can then apply individual
artwork elements to each part of the towel template. This provides
greater flexibility in the mixing and reusing of borders/headers
and looped artwork areas to maximise the number of designs you can
create, making it easy to create a large coordinated range of towel
designs using only a few common artwork components.
Advanced
Loom Control Options
Loom control parameters (e.g. pile height, weft density, weaving
speed etc.) can be set for each section of the towel design, since
these will be different for the loop and border sections in the
towel. A simple click of the mouse on a section will open the Section
Data window for that section and allow you to input meaningful
values
These values are then sent directly to the loom disk and converted
to the appropriate data for a particular terry loom.
Yarn
Colours
Yarns are created by the separate Yarn
Designer program and are added to a yarn palette
on screen which can hold up to 80 yarns for each design. Yarns can
be added or removed from the palette at any time.
Warp
and Weft (Fill) Patterns
Fast and easy creation of warp/weft patterns has always been a priority
for ScotWeave and with ergonomics in mind a number of quick and
easy pattern input methods have been devised. Full copy/fill/mirror
options are available. It is also possible to load warp/weft patterns
from one design onto the screen as the starting point for a new
design. Default patterns can be applied automatically to
correspond with your pile/ground sequence.
