The new improved Weave 3D cross sectional view feature is now available in the current release of ScotWeave software. This feature will be available in Dobby Designer, Jacquard Designer and Jacquard Base Weave and allows the user to view a section of fabric as a three-dimensional cross section.

Once viewed the cross section can be rotated in real-time so that the path of individual threads in the fabric structure can be viewed. This is a very useful visualisation tool for experienced designers as well as an invaluable instructional tool in a teaching situation

The 3D view is shown using the actual warp/weft yarn colours of the design and the effects of different yarn thicknesses are maintained throughout.

With complex multilayer fabrics you can "open up" the fabric, increasing the space between layers, in order to see how the different layers interlace with each other This feature, plus the real-time rotation of the image allows you to almost walk inside the fabric and see how the structure is built up.

This new feature will be supplied free of charge to ScotWeave users currently under warranty or who have a software maintenance contract.
