Yarn
Cost and Composition
Yarn cost information can be added to a file, to produce fabric
costings for subsequent designs. Yarn
fibre composition information can also be applied to a yarn file.
This allows the fibre percentage composition of subsequent
designs to be included in the production specification sheet.
Twist
Yarns
Simply entering the number of colour components, the S or Z direction,
and the turns per inch or cm allows the user to quickly create twist
yarns. ScotWeave Yarn Designer then generates the plied yarn simulation,
which can be fine-tuned to obtain an accurate representation of
a twist yarn.
Mixture
Yarns
ScotWeave Yarn Designer quickly generates heather type yarns by
taking the colour composition and percentage of each component in
the yarn and blending these together, presenting an accurate representation
of a mix yarn.
Fancy
Yarns
A separate Fancy Yarn Module is available to allow yarns
to be scanned into ScotWeave. This is intended for fancy effect
yarns like knop yarns, slub yarns, chenille etc., which cannot otherwise
easily be simulated in the previous yarn creation options.
Space-Dyed
Yarns
ScotWeave Yarn Designer can quickly simulate space-dyed yarns by
entering the number of colour components in the yarn and then the
approximate length of each colour section. The initial simulation
can then be edited using a selection of automatic tools specifically
for space-dyed effects or you can simply paint into the simulation
as required.
